Nitrous Oxide is an oxidizer that activelysupports combustion. Nitrous Oxide handling equipment must becleaned for Oxygen service. Design and construction of storage andpiping systems for pumping liquid Nitrous Oxide must assure materialcompatibility and be such as to prevent loss of prime or “dry running”of pumps. Nitrous Oxide is an active solvent for many materials andmaterial compatibility with Nitrous Oxide must be confirmed before theiruse.
